I am a Customer Service Representative for United Express at Allentown. If you like the big city but hate the hassle then Allentown is for you. One hour from Hersey, PA and NY. One and 1/2 hours from atlantic city. There's fun all year from Dorney park in the Summer to Camel back and Jack Frost skiing in the winter. Please post a message here if you have any questions about the area. I will be glad to help!

Sorry it took so long to get back to you but yes AVP is the airport that is located close to Scranton/wilkes-barre but please be advised that United only has two flights a day in to it from Chicago . Also if your going to the Poconons your best bet is to fly into abe 4 flights from chicago and 4 flights from IAD
and numerous flights with US/NW/COand DL

I am going to Scranton...just being lazy and not wanting to drive the 4 hours or so after work to get there to see my son's performance! I was hoping to jump on a plane!
Thanks for the information :-)

please be adviced that AVP is one of the toughest airports to get in and out of as a nonrev. Abe is only 1 1/2 hr drive to scranton up the pa turnpike cost about 2.15, this i know because my family lives there. Cars can be rented at abe from dollar, hertz, avis and budget. I do not recommend enterprise due to a bad experience with them and the sorry waay they work
