hello flower,
so do you think my wife and i are better off taking a short hop up to jfk from cvg to try for one of these flights to cdg or should we try for the direct flight from cvg on that date? i am new to this whole thing and would be very appreciative of your opinion. thanks for your help previously!

Brian,
Yet again sticking my oar in but what the hell.
As we don't have buddy passes I can only guess as to the order you sit in the standby list but I'd guess that its about an inch from the bottom, just above us other airlines staff but below all the serving and retired staff. In these cases you need to ask yourself a few questions about what if you don't get on:
Is your stay flexible and do you live close to CVG so that if you don't get on for a few days is it really an inconvenience and if so how much of one. Is accomodation already paid for?
Can you use your passes an a different route? If so then there are probably a lot more flights from JFK to Europe than from CVG ( AMS, BRU, FRA etc ). You could try the two flights to CDG and if no luck then alternate to one of the others. Once in Europe you are a lot closer to Paris than you are in the US. Most european capitals have good train and/or coach connections between them and the additioanl fare is probably cheaper than a night spent at the JFK airport hotel.
Most of the JFK- Europe flights look OK for availability but I guess only Flower knows the real figures...

I dont think you are going to be happy but it looks like as of today there are 5 seats in Business class and 4 in coach. (actual) for flight 118 jfk to cvg.
there are only two non-revs listed but they have a hire date of 1966 so they are going first. you still might make it but it is scetchy..

what date are the figures for evan? thanks!

I insist for them to take the BRU flight from JFK.
Actual available is 2 in Biz and 28 in coach on the 17th.
For the 18th there are 2 in Biz and 15 in coach.
IMHO, you picked up very difficult days to travel on buddy passes. I DO NOT recommend to travel on weekends on those type of tickets and moreover that the summer is around the corner. Keep in mind is PEAK season.

I wonder how was Brian's trip to Paris. He promissed to write us about his experience and haven't read anything. I know he made it safe to Paris because I monitored his flights.
