Non-rev crash pad at IAH
We are entertaining the idea of opening up a non-rev "crash pad" for those transiting through IAH. The idea is to provide clean, comfortable, and safe accomodations overnight (instead of the airport) at a budget price.
The price would include:
-shuttle service to and from IAH (the crash pad would be of close proximity to IAH)
-wi-fi (for use in each room for those with laptops)
-computers for use (to check loads, check-in, make changes to itinerary, etc. for those with no laptop)
Each room would have the basic necessities:
-full size bed with pillow, sheets, comforter
-toilet and shower with towels and soap
Our target customers are non-revs and commuters.
Can we please get feedback on this idea? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
The Smith Family

Sounds like a great idea......I would be interested.....hope it gets off the ground..

I love that idea! Thanks for coming up with this!

Most crash pads i've read about use bunk beds... this does not? How do you intend to provide the transport, especially when pilots commute or report at times around the clock?

Hello Smith Family,
I have just joined this forum specifically to find a commuter crash pad.
I live in FL and have just started flying out of IAH and I'm looking for a place to stay (probably)4-5 nights each month.
- Did you decide to set up a crash pad?
If so I would really appreciate it if you could contact me....
Many Thanks,
Andy

I am looking for a place to rent starting about mid-February 2012. Do you have any single or double room accommodations for a responsible flight attendant/interior designer?

Welcome aboard SkyLark
Unfortunately the SmithFamily hasn’t logged in, in over a year, so we have no idea if they ever got their IAH non-rev crash pad off the ground. Hopefully someone else on the board will be able to help you.

Hello to all.
The Smith Family did indeed get their idea of opening a non-rev "crash pad" for those transiting through IAH going.
We kept with the idea to provide clean, comfortable, and safe accomodations overnight at a budget price. Private with
ensuite bathroom. We came up with the name Non Rev Inn. Our doors have been open at IAH for almost 8 years now.
Thank you,
The Smith Family
