You know you're from ( or living in) Hawaii when...
<UL TYPE=SQUARE>
You know which market sells poi on which days
The condiments at your table are shoyu, ketchup, chili peppah watah and kimchee
in your refrigerator is a bottle of shoyu and a half-empty jar of mango chutney
You think the four food groups are rice, Spam, fried food and fruit punch.
You know 101 ways to fix rubber slippers-
50 using tape, 50 using glue and one using a stick to poke the strap back in.
You have a slipper tan
You say "Da Kine" and the other person says "Da Kine" and you both know what "Da Kine" is http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
You feel guilty leaving a get-together without helping to clean up.
when gving directions you use landmarks instead of street names.
and finally you know you're from Hawaii when the first thing you look for in the Sunday paper is the Long's ad. http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emotic...on_biggrin.gif http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emotic...on_biggrin.gif[/list]

Very good!
I love poi - with a little rock salt.
While I don't have any mango chutney right now, I do have at least 3 different kinds of guava.
You'd be amazed what can be done with Spam!
It's not a rubber slipper, its a rubba slippa. Or more commonly just a slippa. Plus they can be purchased in any store anywhere - just in case you have a blowout that can't be fixed.
And, yes I do have slipper tan lines.
Cleaning up? We don't have a choice. It's either that or get kicked out of the house.
As a matter of fact I do look at the Long's ad, what of it?

No I'm sorry to say that I didn't. Last time was in March, we drove to the North Shore and went to Matsumoto's.

The southern one I could relate too very well but I don't recognize any of these! Cute, though.

So you don't recognize anything on the list? Donna, I'm guessing you haven't spent a lot of time on Waikiki Beach. http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
