So, what do you folks think about that JetAmerica airline starting up soon? For those that haven't heard, there is more information about it here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30945230/
Personally, I have a hard time imagining much coming out of it. While I'd love to see a megabus of the skies (as a non-nonrev, that is) it seems too hastily planned, and they're expecting too much out of a single 737 (well, just about any aircraft would have similar issues). The timetables don't seem to be very connection-friendly, and the cities served are too small to have dedicated flights (Toledo? Lansing? C'mon!). Plus, it seems like it's too hastily put together. The Star Tribune (the major newspaper for Minneapolis) reported that they haven't even talked to the Minneapolis Airports Commission since January, and even that wasn't for anything very crucial (the MAC isn't even sure if they'll be able to get gates in time)
Since you folks are probably the only other people I know that'd be able to say much (I know I'm not the only one here that sees airport codes in license plates http://www.nonrev.net/forums/style_e..._DIR#>/dry.gif )... what do you think?

"The carrier is starting out with one leased Boeing 737-800, expects to add a second in the first month, and have as many as four by July of next year."
You would think they would have at least two planes to start with. http://www.nonrev.net/forums/style_e...>/rolleyes.gif One mechanical problem or weather delay, and JetAmerica shuts down.

It is being run by the same guy that operated Skybus, which didn't work out very well. I doubt that it will last very long beyond the first subsidized year.
