Came across this in ATA Smartbrief this morning... the SkyRider - an airplane seat that is like a saddle. Thoughts? I'd prefer it to "standing seats"...

Alright, my thoughts on a seat that's like a saddle- yippie-yi-yo- There's NO WAY I'm doing 12 hours on a horse. http://bestsmileys.com/cowboy1/8.gif
Yep--it looks like something a disabled cowboy would use--or a backboard from the life squad!!
We've been having a dally with this in some other travel forums. Can you imagine getting stuck at JFK for an extra 2-3 hours--OH, the Humanity!!
Just a few ssues are--how many pax can they add to established aircraft capacity?
Do you now need more exits? If you sit in those seats you can likely forget about getting out of an emergency alive? I can't beleive these are Italian design--no self-respecting fashionista would be caught dead in one of those!!!
I can hear a slogan now:
"SkyRider--you bet your A$$"
(so many other sick, twisted ads come to mind...)
OH YEAH--and doesn't that model look comfortable? It seems all she can do to keep from a massive GUFFAW!!

Yeah- Enjoy our new Skyrider seats and get a new slant on air travel. Now available in our new "busting bronco class". http://bestsmileys.com/cowboy1/24.gif
Am I the only one who thinks this looks semi comfortable? I could handle it for a couple of hrs flight...
Uh-huh, most definately. Nick I'm thinking you were probably a fan of "New Coke" and 'clear beer' too. http://bestsmileys.com/lol/6.gif
I'm a bit young for "New Coke"... it was year I was born!
No idea what clear beer is, but it sounds interesting
Clear beer, was a beer with little color and little taste. Another one of those ideas that probably seemed good at the time.
