This is a great article about the struggles of "minor sports" athletes. My nephew is one of the fallout boys [and girls] who have higher priorities than continuing to train even when they are so close to peaking. Many just can't hack the expense; and family sacrifices can be too high to outweigh the monetary costs.
I'm proud of him for all his successes and just as proud that he knew when to call it quits.
