Tremors can be pretty unpredictable. You get that feeling that it will worsen and things will drop on your head or crush you or bury you alive. Getting under that desk was a good idea. I remember feeling a tremor out on Guam and instinctively getting under a door frame. I was ready to ride the hotel down floor to floor.
