What dish haunts your dreams?

I recently was in Chicago and of course had deep dish pizza and it‘s culinary partner in crime a Chicago dog - whether it’s the way the tomato sauce and mozzarella ooze, or the lack of a steamed poppy seed encrusted hot dog bun, something is just off about “Chicago style pizza” or “Chicago dogs” anyplace else.
Which leads me to this question:
What food/dish haunts your dreams? What food will have you getting on a plane?? :cool:


BTW, there’s one more dish that has me checking loads - charbroiled oysters Drago’s Restaurant, New Orleans. I stop and eat before I even check-in. :cool:

Hmmmm...If I could go back with ease: warthog tenderloin wrapped in bacon. We just talked about it a few days ago. Our dinner was in the wine cellar of an exclusive safari lodge in Madikwe, South Africa. Accompanying wine: pinotage (the vintage a forgottten memory byte).
I was once very fond of Chicago dogs. My pet peeve has become the wet toppings that sog the bun. Sport peppers when whole, just squirt and turn the bread into goo, mashing the entire creation into oblivion, rendering the flavors impotent.
Don't get me started on the vulgar incredible hulk relish...

OK, the buns can get a little soggy, but it’s not a Chicago dog without those sport peppers and trust me the stores out here don’t stock them.

I find it funny that one of our major stores sells the buns but no sport peppers.

Anything Spanish - and I mean, authentic Spanish, makes me happy. There are definitely some restaurants that come close (one in Denver, with a head chef from Spain who I always end up saying hi to at some point) but I do think that Spain has some of the best, certainly the most underrated food in the world. I need to go back soon.
