Ultra-low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines said Thursday that it will begin nonstop daily service between Denver and San Diego starting 1/6/15.
The airline's booking engine shows a 7:25 a.m. flight leaving Denver and an 8:45 p.m. flight leaving San Diego. It lists a fare of $43.09 for each leg, excluding baggage fees.
A comparable roundtrip flight leaving Jan. 12 and returning Jan. 17 is running $151 on F9 $204 on WN and $235 on UA.
Wow. Any idea what the advance purchase requirement is on that price? Why non rev when you can get positive space for that price?
Keep an eye on Spirit and Frontier. Their positive space tickets are worth buying sometimes. Especially on routes like a DEN - SAN or PHX- DEN, etc..Quote:

While I agree with a lot of that, if given a choice between hanging around for 24 hours or more to non rev on a more comfortable plane or paying a cheap price to go confirmed on Spirit, I'll take the positive space providing the flight isn't too long.
I'll take that seat on coach for that price so long as I can get some cheese with that wine back there.

Have you seen the baggage fees? Unless you buy in advance, your bags can cost more that a tickets.
