Hah, now that you mention it, we haven't had new users with avatars in a looong time. Everyone that does have one has had it for a long time. Do you get any specific error when you try?
If you want, you can host the image somewhere (I like imgur.com) and send me a link. I should be able to do it from the moderator controls. Of course, you'll have to send me a letter of recommendation from at least 8 of the messages boards you've allegedly been to over the past 10 years. Ok, kidding about that one, of course.

Well, I'm glad I'm not being singled out!
I'd like to have a simple way to post a photo avatar.
Avatars should be working again. The message board software (vBulletin) gets updated periodically. They introduced a dependency on some software called "ImageMagick" in the last update. I had to install it.
Images and avatars should all work now.

So, please tell me how to change mine.
Click on "settings", should be in the upper right corner of the page when you are logged in.
Then, look down in the left sidebar for "Edit Avatar"
Settings > avatar. Pick a photo that is 120x120 or smaller (from your pc or the Internet) and then hit save.Quote:

to use an image from the Internet find an image via google images. Search for your topic and hit search tools at the top. Use image size - exact size (100x100 or 120x120) then it will show you only that size of images. Click one you like and pick "view oroginal image" and copy/paste the URL. It should look something like "http://www.nonrev.net/imagename.jpg"

Found this pic from South Africa--Garonga Lodge. It's our sleepout treehouse; no roof but they just installed a flush toilet!!
Better pics are here: 46, 75, 84 and 121. This was about 30 minutes from camp...all alone with nature. They packed up food and beverages, dropped us off w/radio and picked us up the next day.
