I'm planning to travel to GRU and REC next month and would like some input about hotels in both cities. I've done some research about some hotels in both cities and would like to hear from any interliners out there that may have had some positive experiences. I'll be traveling with my girlfriend who does speak portugese which will break down the language barrier. Any advice would be appreciated.

You could check out the Othon chain of hotels if they are still around. We got a reasonable staff rate from them when in Rio a few years ago.
If I remember correctly id90.com offers Othon at interline rates.
Thanks for your response guys! I did find a super rate on a five star hotel in Rio de Janiero which includes comp. breakfast and tickets to their theatre. If you are looking for a cheap place in Sao Paulo, then the chinatown called "Liberdade" is a good bet. It is on the Metro, and the area is pretty safe at night. Not all of Sao Paulo is, so keep your eyes open!
