Just did a trip to Antigua, Guatemala.

Such friendly people and beautiful scenery.
I stayed in a hostel called El Hostal for $12 a night.

There used to be ice on top of Volcan de Agua, used to grab ice from the top of the mountain back in the 1800's to use for drinks, food storage. I read about that from a surveyer that went all around Central America. I got his book still, he wrote it in the 1800's. Wrote about COPAN, ANTIGUA, places in Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Very interesting stuff about his travel by donkey's up to Volcan de Agua and how trecherous it was. Mules could only go so far up, then it was by foot.
Found the book. It's called "INCIDENTS OF TRAVEL IN CENTRAL AMERICA, CHIAPAS AND YUCATAN". By John L. Stephens. P. 273 bottom page couple of sentences up. "The path was made and kept open by Indians, who go up in the winter-time to procure snow and ice for Guatimala. This book was first published in 1841. Very good reading about LA ANTIGUA DE GUATEMALA and other towns around that time.

It's hard to go back to a place once you been there because there is so many other places to see too, however, I've been back to a few places here and there, such as Nicaragua, Acapulco, Panama, Philippines, San Francisco, Albuquerque, Minneapolis.....to name a few. I only went to Antigua once, wouldn't mind going back there again. This time more like for a week or two.
