On that note, UA club passes are pretty easy to find on ebay. The wife and I bought a pair for a little over $30, good through September 2016.

I've looked at AA passes too on ebay but some of the geniuses there post the passes with the serial number. I've heard rumors that AA regularly monitors ebay and cancels passes (club, upgrade certs, etc) they see for sale.
Thanks for pointing me to TravelZoo, we always wondered if it was worth signing up. Looks like it might be!
