US Airways hiring Flight Attendants...questions

hey gang...I'm back...lol...

havent been on for a while but have some questions...I will be interviewing in CLT for an inflight position with US Airways, they wont tell me if I will be east or west and give me a starting salary range that covers both groups. I do know that a joint contract is up for vote that will allign everything in terms of pay.

My question is what base seems to be the one that jr's get sent too most? I will be commuting from PBI and hoping for CLT or PHL.

How is the reserve system at US? I am familiar with the A-Days at DL but realize that is an unusual way of doing things and hoping that I will have some guarantee flying in the beginning.

How does the face to face interview process work? will it be management or fellow f/a's that will be doing things?

If I get this position I guess I will have to change my name....hahaha...

Good Luck with your interview, from my understanding the base in PHX at the moment is overstaffed so I am almost 90% certain you would be either based in PHL or CLT, with a very small chance of DCA (as it is the smallest east base). The reserve system at US at the moment is very old school, West reserves are running at about flights attendants that have been flying for 7 years or less and out East I have met F/A's on reserve with up to 20 year seniority- so not the best system. The new contract apparently will be changing how the resevre system works. I am not a f/a so I don't have all the fine details but if the contract gets voted in I'm sure some things might change and both east and west cabin crews will start flying toether (not overnight I'm sure).

Thanks for the response, chepos...already being on the east coast I was hoping that CLT or PHL would be the ones most junior since they will be the easiest for me to commute too...I have family in PHX so I wouldnt have to do a crashpad there, but it could be tough for me to get there...

that was one of the weirdest face to face interview sessions I have ever been too...in terms of the agenda it was about the same as all others, but the presentation was kinda negative - it wasnt the normally hyper "we want you" and "you are going to love working here" presentation...I was rejected as not being qualified, but based on the few from my group that did get picked - they were all great candidates!! I was a little heartbroken, but since they are only looking for 165 candidates and about 9000 people applied I feel darn lucky to have even had the chance to go to the face to face...one of the girls they picked, this will be her first "real" job and she was an absolute perfect choice, her personality and attitude was great...I wish all the new hires good luck, and maybe someday I can join ya on the line...

Sorry to hear Deltaflyer, I have never been through an interview process with Inflight so I'm not fsamiliar with how they do interviews. I'm not a fan of the behavioral interview process the company uses some of the questions are extremly repetitive. Good luck and don't give up, keep on applying.

That is why I like being a technician. They only ask you mostly technical questions, no political B.S. If so, very little. We bring to the airlines a license, in which we had to go to school for, or learn via military through experience. We had to bring tools worth a couple of grand at least. Not just our looks considering most of us technicians are can't be that ugly when most of us are married with families. If you go up for management interviews, then it gets a little hairy with the politics and butt smackin. They call it a TARGET SELECTION process. From what I see, "He whom speaks the greatest B.S. gets the job". Just stick around Deltaflyer. From what I see, most here don't work for the airlines but somehow affiliated via buddy passes or something. (According to affiliation markings.)
