Default So what does it matter?

I remember being in Spain, but never Oklahoma. I was in Arizona and I was in Las Vegas, but never Needles. Never been to heaven, but I've been to England and I do like the Beatles. So I got a buddy in Oklahoma I think I'll go visit soon, but I don't see myself going out of my way to visit Needles. I don't know if the ladies in Spain are insane there or abuse it or never actually lose it, and I could never quite refuse it and abused it while under the influence of some good SPANISH WINE. Ahhh.....what does it matter?'

That song I doubt I have ever heard it before. I don't know how it slipped by with such talent as Quincy Jones and other motown classics. It sure has that 1970's upbeat style of beat to it. But I can't say I've heard that one before.

Hmmm, this is damn near perfect music for me to listen to while I hang out on my porch after finishing a couple finals. And the line "Never been to heaven, but I've been to England and I do like the Beatles" gave me a good laugh for some reason. Thanks palms!

I actually don't have one, believe it or not. When I listen to music, it's on my laptop (a Mac, at least), sometimes my cell phone (NOT an iPhone), or this new-fangled wireless music transmission service called "FM Radio." Lately I've been listening to classic rock, and have been picking a few random songs that stick out from there. Otherwise, among the songs I have in my list of favoritest of favorites, it's a song or two from a ton of different people. Notable examples include Blue Man Group, Gaelic Storm*, Kaiser Chiefs, a few songs from the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack from A R Rahman, Sweet, Tears for Fears, The Verve, and the who.

Actually, one thing of interest: I used to listen to XM radio, which had a station I liked called flight 26. On my Spring break in 2007, I was on redeye flight UA76 (it's the same route now if you want to look it up, and I was on the segment on the 777, not 757). I decided I should put all my favorite songs to fall asleep to in a new playlist, which I naturally named Flight 76. 2 computers later, that's still the playlist name I use.

*Gaelic Storm is an absolutely fantastic Irish band which I would strongly recommend listening to sometime. It just so happens that they were playing here in EAU the night before St. Patrick's day, so I went with my girlfriend to watch a concert beat only by Blue Man Group (if you haven't seen them live, I'd highly recommend the ticket and nonrev trip to LAS). The whole time through, I could only think about how I wanted to buy them a pint. So naturally, I waited until after the show when they'd be doing autographs, and asked if I could buy them a beer. "Uh, yeah... we'll be at Hay Market Grill, I think it is." Turns out that place was closing soon after, but we heard they'd be at an Irish(-ish) pub. Sure enough, they showed up 10 minutes later and I was able to get the lead singer a pint of Guinness. Of course, I did make sure that's what he actually wanted, wasn't going off of a stereotype, but it was fun.

Now that's interesting, never would have figured you as a "potluck" in-flight entertainment guy. I always carry-on my ipod and a book, guess I 've seen too many badly edited movies and heard too many "sorry" music playlists. I'm not familiar with Gaelic Storm, and I have to say, first band I've heard that had bagpipes. *wink*

So Spongebue you're into classic 70's rock -- welcome to the hotel California, such a lovely place. *wink*

Ha, at the same time there are plenty of songs that I get tired of pretty quickly. Sorry to say, but Hotel California is one of them, only really listen to it when it's on the classic rock station (I either listen to that or NPR in my car, and find myself surprisingly happy when Simply Folk is on on the WI stations, but that's another story completely) :P

Hey, glad you liked it Spongebue. That line IN OKLAHOMA, NOT ARIZONA WHAT DOES IT MATTER kind of goes down smooth. Rubs me in a good way. Very clever lyrics to me. One of those tunes that you can dig up from the 60's and listen to for the next hundred years.

This reminds be of when I got out of boot camp and I went to the PX to buy some junk and cigarettes, knowing my bus was leaving for home and I heard this tune on the radio. A tune I had heard prior to going to boot camp but listening to it in the PX in Paris Island SC kind of sealed this song for me as a good tune. And every time I hear it, it reminds me of me as a PRIVATE, ready for "A" school at 29 Palms and later, the FMF...(Fleet Marine Force) and the wide blue sea of the unknown. The future would be any day now.
YouTube - Any Day Now - Ronnie Milsap PS. The chick in the video doesn't look too bad. Wonder if that's why I like that Milsap song.
