This may turn out to be a benefit for some overdue seniority issues that cost alot of us some time whenever transferring to CONUS from Air Mike. Of course, that is if the union/company does the right thing. Yea. I kinda like the idea of a merger. Bring it on.

I've been trying to get info from Air Mike friends on the merger, but not much is known right now. It's the Micronesia content that I'm curious about..the island governments and their involvement, that's why it had to be called Continental Micronesia. Will they call it United Micronesia...time will tell...Cheers, Flasher

I understand the wording is out, and its not confidential, that Air Mike will be absorbed under UAL under one operating certificate. They'll be called UNITED. Makes more sense. ALL UNITED NOW right? Not one here and one there. Red headed step child out there and the golden boys here in Conus right?

Right you are Palms - Continental, United lay out plan for merging FAA certificates | AIRLINE BIZ Blog | dallasnews.com

"In a memo emailed to Continental employees Wednesday, Continental laid out the sequence it and United will take after their legal merger, expected to close on Oct. 1:
    1. Continental and Continental Micronesia will combine their air carrier operating certificates.
    2. Continental and United will combine their operating certificates.
    3. The two carriers will combine their repair station certificates"

Thanks for that link Migflanker. This is positive news for me and others caught in the crosshairs of two operating certificates. I hope this resolves alot of issues for us. It's been a sore in my eye for the past 11 years since transferring over to conus. Roll of the dice and move on. Kinda wished this merger would have been in the makings back then where I could have chosen to stay out there for as long as I wanted to. I made the choice to get back to conus because if this never came about, I'd a been stuck out there and the longer time I stayed and then made a move back, means alot more craft years lost. Some guys lost ten years of craft doing this. Went from all those years to basically starting on the bottom of the craft seniority. I lost three years. I hope I can get them back. Lots of bodies between those years. Kinda stinks watching sweet deals happening around you but nothing coming your way. Maybe things will change.

Don't know if it was a buyout by UA, CO or merger.
What I do know is it is Continental with the United name. CEO Jeff iseliminating anything legacy United. From
announcements, computer systems to maintenance procedures. In some casesgoing backwards.

All that will be left is the name.

And having flown on United across the Pacific a couple of times, all the changes can only be good!!

Maybe Flassher, but as a retiree at United pre merger, your seniority would have continued - to boot, a higher boarding priority domestically. All gone !

    Hi guys,

any idea when the agreements for ID travel with other airlines will be merged? Some airlines have different agreements with either CO and/or UA. I'm sure it is not top of the priority list at the moment for them at this busy time.

    Thanks
