Well in that case maybe she should be contacting Phineas Fogg and a Hot Air Balloon - "Around the World in 80 Days" ! LOL
There is just so much you can do and expect to do with a 'Buddy Pass'.
But seriously she can use the 'Buddy Pass' to travel as far as possible and then like any other non-rev at the end of his rope - Buy a Ticket !
Avoid the troublesome bottlenecks and remember to have all the Passport and VISA requirements satisfied.
It is hard to compensate for non-refundable tickets and purchase requirements of buying online but that is the way it is in todays market.
Just have to figure out the best way to put it all together for minimal cost.
Use the internet to its full extent - use Priceline; Kayak; Hotwire and the websites of the various air carriers that get you from here to there.
This does not cost anything other than the electricity to run the computer/laptop and perhaps the internet subscriber fees.
The more lead time you have to plan the better to find a routing that works. Give thought to a back up plan or two.
Buddy Passes are not the best way to travel but they do work for the most part.
One final note becareful crossing the date line - you might find yourself home before you start and not have to worry about time travel ! LOL
