Yes it is a pet peeve of mine !
The thread title should have been "DL Adds Atlanta - Lincoln Nebraska (LNK) in the Fall"
Not all the city codes are known by everyone and a good way to introduce them is to start out using the name of the city or region before the airline code.
Not a terribly big deal but for the non-revs living around Omaha, Nebraska (OMA) an alternate way to get home or out of town can be beneficial in a jam.
I have a feeling that Delta is going to be opening a whole bunch of service to smaller out of the way cities albeit with Regional Commuter Air Carriers.
Service from ATL (you knew that one didn't you) to Rochester MN (RST) was recently announced. You won't need to go VIA * to get medical treatment !
* I threw you a curve - there is no city for VIA; It is the Canadian (Passenger) Railroad.
