The runways were lengthened to 7000' in 1967.

There's no runway lengthening in the rebuilding plan.

The plans do show the addition of dual taxiways for both runways which with the addition of dual taxi lanes for terminal access which will allow the runways to operate at maximum capacity.

The new DL terminal will have 37 gates, more than JFK T4 and T2 combined, and more than are planned with the T4 expansion and demolition of T2 at JFK. Many of the new LGA gates are designed to handle the largest single aisle aircraft in the fleet, 757's and A321's.
