Not if the coupon departing the UK is used.
Unlike commercial customers who are "tied" to a fare rule, employees can choose (or loads may choose it for them) to stopover instead of connect (i.e., there is no guarantee that a employee on a space-avaialble ticket will make an immediate connection, by his own choice or circumstances) therefore the UK departure taxes are always collected regardles of the traveler's intention.
Note that whether or not AA (the ticketing airline) collects the amount, the transporting airline has the right to bill it. So if AA doesn't collect it from you or if they refund it to you, they still have to pay it to the OAL.
