Ouch, so pricey!! But I've heard it's really beautiful. Soooo, spend the money for hotel, bring along a supply of Ramen noodles and enjoy the beauty? Or, just skip the whole thing?

Hey Tony,
You could go for two days and eat at McD's- but be prepared to pay the equivalent of $10 usd (or more) for a BigMac. Stay at the Hostel.
I stayed at the Comfort Inn, nothing fancy but it was the equivalent of about $190.00 USD a night. It was very convenient, just a couple of blocks form the lake and town centre.

Several years ago, traveling from Paris to Salzburg, we took the Golden Pass Panaromic Scenic train from Montreux to Interlaken. This was absolutely stunning scenery. We stopped overnight in Interlaken. There isn't that much to do there, but the mountains are beautiful. As for cost--Interlaken was very expensive!
