I have been to Zurich, beautiful city but very pricey!!!! Keep in mind they don't use the Euro there but the Swiss Franc. Zurich is a smaller city, very clean and easy to get around. As I mentioned - hotels and food can b expensive. To get from the airport to the city center all you do is cacth the light rail and in 30 minutes you are in town. Never been to Geneva but I have heard it is a beautiful town as well.

It is horrendously expensive! But clean as a whistle...riffraff can't afford to live there, so there isn't any!
Lake cruise Zurich. I've never done the train trip to the mountains but I heard it's beautiful and $$$.

They are like a little Eutopia. Their medical system is far from defunct as over here in the states. I'd love to live there from what I hear. I do hear its expensive as hell. I know a guy that was living there, he was from Greece and was sent to Switzerland for business. He sold tobacco leaves. I figure he must be back in Greece. I haven't kept up with the guy but he invited me to visit in Greece around some 10 years ago. (Friend of the familia.) But he hated Switzerland and really missed Greece. Maybe he didn't like the cold climate there.

You could go for two days and eat at McD's- but be prepared to pay the equivalent of $10 usd (or more) for a BigMac. Stay at the Hostel.
I stayed at the Comfort Inn, nothing fancy but it was the equivalent of about $190.00 USD a night. It was very convenient, just a couple of blocks form the lake and town centre.

Several years ago, traveling from Paris to Salzburg, we took the Golden Pass Panaromic Scenic train from Montreux to Interlaken. This was absolutely stunning scenery. We stopped overnight in Interlaken. There isn't that much to do there, but the mountains are beautiful. As for cost--Interlaken was very expensive!

So, has anyone ever flown Swiss? Are they nonrev friendly? I know we can actually buy biz class zed's on them....Our flight to ZRH is always packed, and I know they have 2 a day from JFK.
