My Favorite Restaurant in Paris

I need to write my review and it will be favorable like most on TA. I arranged to take the train to Lower Normandy, knowing that my hotel on return would train be only 3 blks from Au Reveil XV. Montparnasse is very convenient for transport--the Gare is extensive.
Owners Nadia and Olivier (well-known TV chef in France) are so welcoming. I ate alone and listened to the chatter from crews @ other tables--lots of them--they are no dummies when it comes to value/quality. The place is very oddly decorated--dated kitsch is the best description. Great food w/top price for "plats" is 19.5 euros. Includes comp wine! Scallops, duck, fish--lots of choices on 2 page menu that changes now and then. The bread and Normand butter (salt crystals in it--YUM to the nth degree) and best baguettes ever make it all complete. I asked Nadia if it was possible to explode if I ate too much--she just laughed...
Please make the effort to visit and dine if you spend time in Paris.
PS--they only take cash.

Yeah, when flight crews frequent a restaurant you know you have a winning trifecta- good food, friendly service and reasonable prices:cool:. So M7, you flew 4,500 miles and hopped a train to get to this restaurant - what did you eat…besides bread and butter? :cool:

Well, I took a 3 1/2 hr train from Granville to arrive 100 yds from hotel, then 3 blocks. My dinner was sauteed scallops in cream sauce w/silken potatoes (sinful!) and haricots vert. And, plenty of crusty French bread and THAT butter; vin blanc...
I've never been crazy about Parisians but after a few meals here, I could ignore most of them to eat @ Au Reveil XV
