If you don't need the luxury of an expensive safari you can always 'do it yourself'. You can always hire a car and drive around the game parks. The Kruger Park in South Africa allows you to drive arouind it, from camp to camp if you want ... you can also pay for escorted game drives if thats what you prefer ...
