I have made it to the Hawaiian islands numerous times between October and Feb from PHX on 757's (us) mind you and ony once did we face a possible weight issue - but they got us on. I am assuming you are planning on doing DL out of LA or another west coast city. If the flight is open enough you should not have a problem getting on, the issue should be whether there are any seats available for non-revs.
