M7, if you’re looking for a large room/suite and a spa, and don’t really care about a show, definitely take a look at the Palazzo, it’s one of my favorites. The Canyon Ranch Spa is nice, $$$$$, but nice ( I believe they offer a room/spa package) and Table 10 is one of my favorite restaurants. Oh and something else that might appeal to you, the Palazzo is connected to the Venetian by a looong walkway lined with shops, waterway/canals, it’s great people watching place.
As far as the Monte Carlo, it’s a beautiful hotel, but I’ve only walked through - maybe D2 has a review

Thanks MIg. We'll be just back from a Mexico stay in Riv Maya, so I don't want to spend oodles. I don't even like the entire Vegas thing, but I've only been there briefly. Boss used to stay at Green Isles on layovers but not a huge fan either. I just wanted to take him off-season, to see Pawn Stars store, eat some good stuff and wander around. I do like the Egyptian themed slots--not sure why but they suit me for winning...I think I played a nickel one at the airport for less than an hour and earned enough to pay for everything except the base hotel bill. I must be Mummies' favorite!

Everybody love Pawn Stars - It’s small, lots of engagement rings and show logo t-shirts, mugs etc. It’s open 24 hours, but I wouldn’t go down there at night, Oh and there’s a Graceland wedding chapel down the street- I saw Elvis standing on the corner.
    Good luck with the mummies.

It's really crazy how Pawn Stars took off. Ask any local and they will tell you Super Pawn is a lot better. There is a new bar downtown - well, not that new maybe 2yrs, called the Downtown Cocktail Room next to 7/11 on Ogden and LVB. Dark but eclectic, reminds me a little of the Dresden Bar (Los Feliz).
