PDX Hotel Deals and Sightseeing Tips

Headed to Portland for a long weekend in June. Looking for hotel deals near the airport and some sightseeing tips for a mother and teenage son (17).

Very partial to this hotel. Supermarket near hotel, walking distance to river, comp WSJ, USA today, great airline EMP Rate. Red Lion Jantzen Beach | Red Lion Hotel on the River Jantzen Beach | Portland Oregon | Red Lion Hotels. FYI, get a bottle of that nice Willamette Valley Pinot, watch the kid from the 4th floor and your set.

Now you're starting to tempt me. What kind of discount code do you use? Any idea if it's for a specific airline?

Sponge, you have two options. The 1st time I went I called and verified my EMP I.D. over the phone and in person. The second time they had my info on file with copy of badge. It was a reasonable "rack" rate.

Thanks so much guys. Never heard of the Red Lion Hotel Chain, but will take a look at it. Now, any tips on sightseeing that a 17 yr old boy would like to see? He has never been in the NW part of the country, so would it be worth going to Northern Cali or into Washington?
