    If you don't have Global Entry, it's definitely worth the investment, especially at an airport like LAX and the TBIT. Even if you don't travel much internationally, it's worth it for precheck. You will also be eligible to use GE in Australia. That said, I would say 3 hours if you don't have GE and you have bags to pick up and re-check and 2 hours if you do have GE and and just have carry-on.
