Aviation Quiz 11-Advertisements
I'll post an airline advertisment, minus the carrier's name and logo (of course) and you have to identify the airline. (really very simple http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif)
These are the actual print advertisements, so read the ads carefully, there are plenty of clues. As with the "F/A uniform quiz", a new ad will be posted only when the previous ad has been correctly identified. So start deciphering; after all, these are airline ads; you wouldn't want to be stuck on "Question #1" for weeks.
I would like to thank Mr. Sergio Ortega for use of his advertisments, he did all the work, all I did was copy, and yes he knows...I borrowed his pencil.
Edited to add
As with all "Off Topic" quizzes, a detailed explanation of quiz rules is available by sending Mrs. Field's chocolate chips cookies (with walnuts) to Migflanker at LAX. Inquiries will be answered within 6 to 8 weeks and are not valid in The Emerald City, Atlantis, or Frostbite Falls, Minnesota....no mailboxes. http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emotic...on_biggrin.gif

Now sing along with Al - "Singapore Girl, you're a great way to fly". Think this might be SQ somehow. Dunno what tipped me off. http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
(Can u imagine doing 24hrs from here to Europe with the seats in the colour scheme. Major headache time !!!)

Al you're on key- ad 2 is Singapore Airlines. http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emotic...on_biggrin.gif
3--This ad is from the 1990's. It appeared in the airline's in-flight magazine.

Makes a change - am normally waaaaaaay off key !!
Going out on a limb here, but you haven't done too good a job at blocking out the route map in the ad. I reckon it's Frontier - looks like a DEN hub, 737 aircraft euro-white fuselage with complete tail black out and they were very corporate friendly to start with (as per the body of the text in the ad).(Frontier's "billboard" lettering on the fuselage didn't start till the Airbus came on line with them a couple of years ago.)

Al you are correct- Frontier
Uh-huh I agree, so far the ads have been relatively easy, I mean actual 800 numbers and route maps, BUT things are about to change; *evil grin* the "fasten seat belt" sign is on, Al (and all aboard) you're about to hit some severe turbulence. http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emotic...on_biggrin.gif
4--This ad is from the early 1980's. It appeared in an issue of Air Transportation World.

I think I concur with AL ... either Austrian or Lauda before they merged !!

Well done, Al and Paul- ad 4 is Austrian Airlines.
We're now at ad 5, the final quiz question. This one is a real challenge, very few clues, but I'm stil betting someone in the forum can ID the airline. http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/aircraft/Plane1.gif
This ad is from the late 1990's. It appeared in the Asian edition of Time magazine.
Just in case you can't find your glasses--
"To give all our customers a piece of the pie, we're upgrading our seats, adding more entertainment options, installing laptop power outlets, and a whole lot more. From the time you reach the airport to the time you get to your destination, US $710 million goes a long way towards making you a happier customer."
