San Diego would be a good choice.

There's an Alaska Air departure at 7am to OGG and three other Alaska flights after that to Honolulu, Kona, and Lihue as backups.

Or there is also a Hawaiian depature to HNL at 10:30am as another backup.

Obviously, you'd need to island hop if the 7am to OGG doesn't work out. But, in my experience, there are usually open seats on that flight (and you're unlikely to be at the bottom of a large standby list like you would be at SFO, LAX, etc. on Delta, United, or American).

I also think Oakland may be a good choice for similar reasons...
