World’s most irritating pax

We’ve all been there: seated next to, behind, in front of, and/or near “the most irritating pax in the world“.
The “aromatic” pax
The bare feet intruder
The boozer
The off key singer
The seat kicker
The pungent foodie
The seat switcher
The snorer
The talk………….er
The undresser ( I’m referring to shoes and/or socks, not pants as in the article:o) are just some of the pax types.

Now I’ve witnessed quite a few from the list
bare feet on the bulkhead, the seat kicker (which I stopped with .….... a look:cool:) .
Been subjected to live performances of a Texas college fight song and the
‘ABC Alphabet’ and ‘I don’t want to be a chicken I don’t want to be a duck songs
sung in a five minute loop by a toddler and sat next to a pax covered in Vicks - luckily I was on the aisle and was able to get up and stretch……….a lot.
But the one pax that had me ‘almost’:cool: regret getting that last seat, was ‘the pungent foodie’ - who had a garlic, onions, hot tuna sub and yes, the smell was as overwhelming as you can image.

The only time I have actually gotten irritated enough to say something was to a mom who was letting her 2 children literally run up and down the aisle banging the seats as they went. Now keep in mind that I generally sleep on planes so I was being kept awake while mom paid absolutely no attention to these kids (who were probably 4 and 6 or 7). I asked the flight attendant to say something (I was a paid customer on this one) but she declined saying that she did not want to have a complaint written about her. Seriously? I finally approached the mom who at first couldn't understand "what my problem was" until I finally said either she made them sit down or I would. She chose to take care of it and they were very good for the rest of the flight.

Ask me some time about the kid (about 3 or so) on our flight to London in November. Holy cow was he bad (and his mother was worse).

Can't dangle the carrot and expect us to wait, Donna. Do tell!

Keep in mind that this is an overnight flight . . . . . This couple was allowing their approximately 3 year old boy to run up and down the aisle and simply yell whenever he felt like it. It was bad. In fact, it was bad enough that it kept my husband (with his noise cancelling headphones and everything) from sleeping. About 5 hours into the 10 hour flight - so about 3:00 am - he got up and spoke with the flight attendant. The gentleman said he had never seen a kid that out of control in the 25 years he had been a FA. He spoke with the mother and asked if there was some way she could get the child to sleep or at least calm down. Her response? "Well I do have a medicine from the doctor that is supposed to help him sleep on this flight." Really? The FA actually said "and you haven't given it to him yet?" She went back to her seat (which she had changed after take off to be behind us, yay) and gave the boy his meds. He slept for about 4 hours. This means that about 1 hour left he started kicking my husband's seat. Constantly. Like every other second until Jack turned around and glared. Nothing changed. He turned around and said "excuse me" and the mom did nothing. He finally got really ticked and turned around again and said "you need to make him stop kicking my seat or I will" to which she said - and I am not kidding or exaggerating - "He is little." She then turned to her kid and said "Go ahead and kick his seat and scream as loud as you want." He stood up in his seat and screamed out loud until the seat belt sign went on then he kicked the seat until we landed.

These things tend to happen to my husband. Just unlucky, I guess. I almost never seen any children who are not well behaved though I suppose I would probably not notice if they weren't unless they were extremely bad.

A kicker and a worthless parent tag team, now that’s definitely an irritating prize winner
I’ve seen a FA ask the parent to take the kid’s shoes off, that seemed to work; but then again she was dealing with a cooperative parent.
