We've all visited (or been forced to visit) places that didn't live up to the hype - for me, the Hollywood sign comes immediately to mind. It's HOLLYWOOD spelled out on the side of a hill which you can easily see from the freeway. You don't need to hike up there, or worst yet pay for a tour, besides there's a chain link fence and No Trespassing signs that will completely ruin your perfect photo. My advise, attend a concert at the Hollywood Bowl, you can see the sign from the freeway AND from the Bowl's bleacher seats, or you can just drive Mulholland.

So world travelers, what place or attraction has left you disenchanted?

While you're thinking about it, a few quotes from some other disappointed travelers . Can you guess what they're taking about?

1. "The stairs inside are absolutely dreadful, and that's coming from an athletic person. Not much to see inside, and the views are not worth it. All you see is jammed pack streets of Paris"

2. "The place was in ruins, Stadium seemed like it hadn't been used in years. So old none of the seats even remained, had to stand."
