Flying OMC with the new United

I have a quick question. Are there any UA employees online that know the process for flying OMC with the new United? Previously we would go to the ticket counter, request OMC, pay any taxes and proceed to the gate and hope to get a seat. Has the process changed at all? I was recently told I needed to list for a flight, however when we call to list we are told we are not required to do so as OAL crew. Can anyone share the new process? I know we still have a "reciprocal jumpseat" agreement with UA, I am just not sure if there are any new restrictions. For example, am I able to OMC on flights operated by CO Airlines metal or just those operated on UA metal? I am a dispatcher and our airline code is WS. Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I know, its all under one metal now. United. Sorry, I can't help. I haven't travelled under the current new United, nor do I know any of how to fly offline or any of that now. It seems like these SKY JOCKIES on this forum know more about it than I do. Hell, they probably bump me!

I am a dispatcher as well and inquired about this very thing last week as I'll be jumping in and out of FRA this summer. Spoke with a friend in UA DX, and he said that things are pretty much the same as before for OMC travel.

List prior, hit the ticket office/counter to pay any possible taxes, proceed to gate and hope for a seat. Still can't ride in the cockpit on intl flights.

There isn't CO metal/UA metal, it's all UA now.

As a ticket counter/gate agent, things haven't changed on your end, just on ours after the computer system switchover. I list jumpseaters (OMC) all the time at the counter, and we're so small that it's rare that it's ever needed at the gate. No need to list ahead of time, at least on our express flights (I think there may be a slightly different process for mainline flights, but I never work those)

Thanks everyone for the updates! I have been told by some I need to list and by others to do nothing different. One agent was telling me that it has been a difficult transistion for many to the new system. She was explaining that there is some confusion as Flight Attendants using reciprocal jumpseat must list, but not Pilots and Dispatchers. She also said that workload has gone way up. I can understand this, and that is why I take everything in stride. It is hard for gate agents as they are so busy now. In many cases single agent at the boarding gate, already overwhelmed and then having to deal with extra work! I really appreciate all of the work the gate agents do. They are front end ambassadors of all Airlines, and normally faced with difficult situations that I would never want to handle!

Pilots and dispatchers are run through CASS at the gate, plus have to be on reciprocal lists to ride.

It's really a mixed bag. Some things are easier, some things are harder. Some things have to be done in native SHARES, which is very tricky if you're not very good with computers (I am, and even I get thrown off sometimes). However, no matter what you think, you cannot disagree that for the United (not Continental) agents, it really is like having a brand new job, and all of your coworkers are in the same situation and may not be able to help much. Regardless, it'll get better before it gets worse!
