US Airways is moving from the A Concourse at Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport to the D Concourse. This move is intended to bring US Airways and American Airlines into the same concourse. This means the check in to gate is an average of 26 minutes with minimal security lines. Bring your running shoes. Also HA is on D Con as well..
I've always flown Allegiant out of LAS and generally have no time issues getting from counter to the gate.
For me, LAS is one of the airports where I've always been happy to have an airline badge through security. Then again, I haven't flown out of D yet...

I tried emailing the TSA asking what the policy is SUPPOSED to be, and the response I got was simply "Thank you for asking why airport employees don't have to go through security. Employees go through intense background checks, blah blah blah..."
Ahhhh the D gates at LAS -security can be a mass of humanity or a breeze. You have escalators and a tram ride with a lot of people that have been up all night partying. It’s a long walk to get anywhere. Slots machines at gates and baggage claim -wheel of fortune.
Boss has had top security clearance in the Navy (nukes) and is entrusted to fly millions of $ of equip and hundreds of SOB's. Yet, unless he uses Precheck at TSA, he still has to remove the netbook and toiletries and shoes. Obviously, he uses Precheck whenever possible. Each of us have been deselected once but I think it's rare. I keep my seat requests separate--domestic and INT when connecting.
I am just now getting thru to our BP riders to get Global Entry. $20/yr times 5 is worth hours standing in lines at immigration, customs and TSA.
