Default Bought a United Club membership, able to access star alliance clubs as well?

I am curious to see if anyone has any experience trying to use a star alliance carrier's lounge if they own a membership from another lounge. I looked at the requirements and the policy states that you need a club card, which I have, and also a boarding pass departing the local city on a star alliance carrier. How strict are carriers on enforcing the boarding pass requirement? And if I am nonreving on UA, what are the chances that boarding pass will be sufficient for access?

Just curious! Thanks for any info.

I think I'd ask at tripadvisor.com forum for air travel. My other source recommendation would be flyertalk.com.
Our experience with DL SkyClubs is no, sometimes even with that BP for required class of service, ie biz OR first. That's why we got the Amex Platinum card--it includes lots of goodies like unlimited Priority Pass Lounges w/out fee.
We always had to present the card plus a BP to be considered at AF, KL, etc.

I have the same question as you. I'm hoping that maybe you know the answer now.

I nonrev from Asia and SYD a lot. With my UA club membership card and a boarding pass I should get access to the Star Partner lounges. What I'm not sure about is whether my non revenue boarding pass is sufficient. Does anyone know?

We used our SkyClub membership for several years. Why not call UA and ask if there's any issue. Now, we just use the Amex Plat but we have to have one card each--no guests w/out fee.
