evan...SWA does not have a pass agreement with EgyptAir.

I also need tips for getting to Cairo, so I can visit my son.

I was disappointed to find that out since I just sent my son on them yesterday. I would have never sent him non/rev anyway since he is going there to study at the American University in Cairo. I was only going to send him on a confirmed ticket.

So EgyptAir won't work for pmboo and me.

I was hoping to talk to a few EgyptAir people yesterday about trading passes, but it was too busy. I have to say they were extremely nice to my son, the agent moved him to Business Class Emergency Exit seat from Economy since she knew he needed more leg room (he is 6'1"). They got an A+ from me

Delta will reinstate service this summer (June maybe?) I don't know if that helps you or not?
I can tell you that Egyptair has some incredible packages that inlcude RT air for almost nothing additional to the land portion.
You can look at that option--some have Nile cruises and hotel/tours.

I don't know of any US Carrier that flies into Egypt except codeshares. If you can get to Europe it should be fairly easy. Alitalia flies to CAI from MXP, Air France flies CDG-CAI, Lufthansa flies FRA-CAI, KLM flies AMS-CAI, etc.

How about NW DTW-FRA and then LH FRA-CAI?
That is what we were going to try on Feb 7, but the FRA-CAI does not look good.

Our new plan is DTW-AMS-ZRH-CAI-AMS-DTW on NW, LX, and KL.

If it helps at all BA155 LHR-CAI on 07FEB has about 20 empty seats on it.

    Thank you Britski99!

My carrier(NW) only flies into LGW right now but that will change soon.

    Well, I did it!
    I flew IND-EWR-LIS-MAD-CAI-AMS-EWR-IND.
All the flights were wide open and I did two days in Cairo.
    The Giza Pyramids are amazing!
