I'm planning to nonrev to NBO on BA from LHR or KLM from AMS or possibly the KLM flight to JRO. I'll be leaving on Sept 11th or 12th and returning around Sept 26th. Anybody know how the loads look for those flights/dates? Or have any other routing suggestions?

I'm going to hike Kilimanjaro for 6 days and also go on a safari in Tanzania. I have a few extra days I was planning to spend in Nairobi although perhaps it would be worthwile spending a few days somewhere else in Kenya since I've heard mixed reviews of Nairobi. I'm a single, white female (American) traveling alone. Any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Kristin

    Hi Kristin,
No worries on any of the BA flights on the dates given .. In fact you'll probably get a row to yourself !!

P.S. If you want suggestions for alternatve routes you'd better say where you are starting from.

P.P.S. You could look at Mombasa on the Kenyan coast.

.... and a brave one at that.

Please come back after your trip and post a trip report and some photos. We'd love to hear how it went!

    Thanks so much!
Silly me... I forgot to mention where I'm coming from! I'm originating in PHX. I was planning on flying my airline to LON or AMS since KLM and BA seem to be the best options for getting down to NBO. But now I'm thinking of the BA nonstop flight PHX/LHR on either Sept 10th or 11th. Any idea how that flight looks? That would make things a lot easier.

    Thanks again!

    Kirsten,
The BA288 on the 10th has 20 empty seats and no staff listed and the 11th has 100 empty so you should be fine on either.
Unless you want to overnight in London the best bet for you would be the 288 on the 10th connecting to the BA089 on the 11th ( there is no 089 on the 12th ). Note that the daily BA065 departs before the PHX-LHR flight arrives.

    Hi Kristin,

I just got back from Kenya three weeks ago. You will have a wonderful time. I'm planning to post some of my suggestions for travel in Kenya here shortly, including some photos. So check this forum later this evening and hopefully my experiences will be of help to you.

Take care and have a wonderful and safe trip.
