Thread: Amman Jordan

I visited Jordan, but about 16 years ago. More recently, Lebanon this summer and Syria next year.

It's the most amazing place. We stayed at the Intercontinental in Amman that gave a good airline rate.
Amman itself, you could probably do in 1 day, the major sites.
It is not a large country. At the time, there was only one domestic flight and that was between Amman and Aqaba on the dead sea.
I actually preferred the Dead Sea from the Israeli side.

There were 3 of us, so we decided to hire a car and see everything ourselves.
Petra of course, is the jewel in the crown.
Because Jordan borders the Mediterranean, the climate would probably be perfect just now for sightseeing.
We visited in June if I recall and it was sweltering. If you have a car, you can stop at Wadi Rum en route ( Lawrence of Arabia ).

I can't be much use because it was such a long time ago, prices will have changed etc. Certainly, distances are not huge and driving is a good idea.
People are friendly and additionally, yhey are an extremely handsome race. I can't recall seeing such beautiful emerald green eyes, on both men and women.
The food is outstanding.

I love this region of the Middle East, I'm sure you will too.
