Hi Serge.
Not a lot to see or do in Vila town itself, or on Efete for that matter! The Ekasup Cultural village is excellent and well worth a look if you are into culture and history, and a drive around the sole "highway" that circles the island is a good day trip. Make sure you rent a 4WD if you do this as the sealed road runs out not far from the lookout to the west of Vila itself, and it becomes a dirt track littered with potholes. We've done the drive a few times and it's always a delight meeting the locals and stopping where and when you want for a dip in the sea, having lunch etc. Dinner is a highlight - lots of fantastic restaurants to choose from and the seafood is divine. Duty free is dirt cheap if you feel like a shop around, and an afternoon sunbaking under the palms at Erakor with afternoon "cocktails" is a good way to kill half a day.
It depends on what you are "into" I guess. Whatever you do, make sure that Pacific Sky is not in port on either of the days you are there or there will be over 1,300 tourists in town over running the shops and all of the local transport.
It's certainly a lot less cosmpolitan than Noumea, but is similar to the outer islands and the locals of Nouvelle Caledonie - particularly Lifou etc.
Cheers & Regards.

Thanks AL for the info. I really look forward this break ... I'll let you know when I'm back. Au revoir
