Try the Shangri-La chain. In Penang they have the Rasa Sayang and the Golden Sands. The Rasa Sayang is the more expensive although the hotels are next door to each other and you could ( when I was there ) use the facilities of each hotel reciprocally. They also have hotels in KL but I've not used them.

Finally I chose the PRINCE hotel in KL and SHERATON at Penang ... Looks good ?
