non rev advice SFO to PER October 14/15

Hi All!
I'm doing my first international non rev from SFO to PER Oct 14/15. Ideally, I would like to leave SFO 10/15 go to SYD on UA and on to PER via QF.
Looking into SFO NRT on UA as back up...NRT SYD then SYD PER on QF.
ANY suggestions anyone may have would be greatly appreciated!!!!!! I have UA and DL benefits, plus all of their codeshares. Other non revs seem to have great things to say about QF....I'm nervous about using them out of NRT .... but that would be a fun route if direct SFOSYD doesn't work out....

Any thoughts about it all?

It's the end of Spring school vacation that week down here, so flying domestically may not be much fun as a nonrev.
QF fly NRT-PER nonstop - or they did when I worked there at least. Am sure they still do it but a quick check on the web or through the system will reveal more.
