Default Climbing tips on the Great Wall of China.

Ok, many programs on the Great Wall of China now that the olympics is here. One athlete was talking about how you better be in shape to climb the wall. Ok, here is 29 Palms take on all of this.

I aint no athlete, not in the greatest of shape, but when it came to climbing the Great Wall of China, it's not about being in shape. Sure it helps. Anything helps physically to climb this wall but you can do it on GUTS and MIND OVER MATTER. NO PAIN NO GAIN.

DISCIPLINE. This is the will to do what needs to be done. I looked at the great wall and said to myself..."HOLY SHIT BATMAN, THIS IS GOING TO BE A ROUGH ONE." One beer, two beers and up I went. Way up there in the Great Wall. How the hell am I going to go to China and not scale this wall? So, if you want to climb this wall and give the highest respects to these men that built this wall sometimes on their bones and their everything of their existence, you just do it. Have one beer, have two but UP YOU GO. The crying losers corner is down thataway or better yet, stay home. You climb up to the mountains putting one foot sometimes hands and knees in front of the other. When you come down, you have the memory of a life time. Remember. THE CHINESE SAY THAT YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN TO CHINA UNLESS YOU SCALE THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA. MIND over matter, guts, will power. Sometimes that is all we got. (Beer helps)

The place the bus drops you off is in front of these goodie goodie stands that sell junk food sodas and BEER!!! Not selling it up on the wall. Those guys selling beer are whoosies. They just stand in front of their business. Guys like I. ME go up in there to combat the elements of the cold Manchurian winds and inhospitable altitudes, not to mention bands of roaming thieves on horseback. The beer is just a man's man thing to do before I do the manly thing.
