Default Thailand, Thailand, Beautiful Lady Boy and Girl Land...

    Remember the Toyland song?

Well, we made it!!! 767er (ha!) SFO/NRT cnx to A330 tp BKK. LONG haul but in Biz elite--even buddy pass niece.
Usual service on Boeing--BKK leg was like glorified coach--no trolley service with weird semi-pod seats (flat?? hardly--slider seats--needed to keep belt tight to stay in place while sleeping...

Coming home, we split so I could get home to Boss (really missed him after 10 days!)
and I got the 747-400 and other than the same horrid seats--exceptional service and TOP DECK!! first time for me--SWEET!
    Back to Thailand:
we ate our way thru everywhere. Started w/1am pick up at BKK--driver took us to Hua Hin (hwa-in as one word) and we recoverd from JL fe days at Sheraton using points and little cash. Ate western bfast then hit the noodle station and had Thai bfast. Took a shuttle to town and walked it all off, Then had leg massages and foot reflexology (those Thail women can really dig in!!) For $20 each we got aromatherapy massage, manicure and pedicure for 2+ hours. We enjoyed the coolish weather on the pool walkout room and shuttled back to town for night market. We perused the food stalls and picked our seafood--squid and prawns the size of baby arms--a dinner ran about $6 pus local beer/Oz wine ($$)
Had our driver pick us up after 4 nts and make a stop at Petchaburi, a tri-hilltop palace
on the way back to BKK.
We arranged for a stay at Amphawa

We had a great little guesthouse on the river (even the monks glide up in boats around 6am for food contributions and blessings)
One mroe transit on public vans--90 min ride for $3 each and a long taxi ride that still only cost us $6.
Arrived at Siam Kempinski Hotel and OMG--500 sq ft of PURE HEAVEN!! Exec club privs--exquisite service, food, concierge, decor--all on 17th floor overlooking massive pool system surrounded by hotel--a resort quad so to speak, int he middle of the city!
Our cabana room had a terrace with walkout steps right into the pool--no ladder. BKK was really HOT--33C with humidex of 38--beastly!! we saw lots of local markets, took a Thai cooking class, more massages, used the Skytrain and subways and taxied around town. It was almost hard to leavve teh hotel but we draged ourselves from temple to temple to palace to ferry and more eating--food stalls, upscale joints--you name it, we ate Thai soups and curries and fried food --I had hardboiled quail eggs wrapped in wonton and deep fried--w/Thai pepper sauce of course for breakfast w a beer!
Switched to riverside Sheraton Orchid for last 2 nts (flight left 5am) great view from24th floor--Captivating to watch pilot boats leading barges along the twisty oxbows of the Chao Praya River.
Got our last day in w/mani/pedi for $7 and went home. I'm now dealing w/bed at 11, wake at 5, back to bed at 8 till 10...
    Gotta love overseas travel!!!

Ahhhhh, the breakfast of champions! As usual, great trip report.

BTW, I'm not familiar with the Toyland song, however I do remember "One Night in Bangkok".
