Scoot has been named as 2016’s best low-cost airline for the Asia-Pacific region at the Airline Excellence Awards by AirlineRatings.com.

In a statement, Airlineratings.com said that Scoot “has shown that low cost travel does not need to be low service with a wide range of options to suit the most discerning traveller”.
Scoot was also tops for 2015, while the award for 2014 went to Jetstar Asia.
Meanwhile, Air New Zealand was named as 2016's airline of the year “for its continuous passenger innovations, environmental commitment, record-breaking financial performance, operational safety and motivation of its staff that have cemented the airline an industry trendsetter”.
It was also awarded best premium economy class and best economy class.
“The innovation at Air New Zealand continues to dazzle and the airline has rolled out some stunning new technology including innovative tracking of unaccompanied children and a wonderful App to get you a perfect cup of coffee before your flight,” said Mr Thomas.
