HOLY COW!!! What a trip and how 'bout that report--awesome read and the pix were so much fun.Loved it all. You reallt got adventurous. Loved Jim Thompson House and story. All the ferries. We haven't been to Ayutthaya, but my niece and I went to Amphawa for the fireflies etc, and Boss and I did the short version of River Kwai. I would do the full deal next time--it's a moving experience.
I loved your "obsession" w/smoothies, shakes and ices! What a great read. Thanks for taking the time to share w/us. PS--Did you get a chance to have foot massages? So cheap and so good for you.

No foot massages. No time really. Plenty of offers of course - and not just feet !
I had considered trying to fit in a trip to Amphawa when I went to Mae Klong, but would mean a motorbike taxi from Mae Klong, and as the floating market is only really active on the weekend, it would not have been worth it. Last train leaves Mae Klong before fireflies are up, so would have meant a separate day out by bus for that. Also had River Kwai bridge on my list of considerations, but really need to make that 2 days to do everything, so not this trip, but maybe next one.

Glad you enjoyed the trip report. I might put others up if I can get the time to sort them out. I guess there is no real time limit.
