Hope you do Amp and Kwai on next trip. Amphawa has lots of small homestay type places along the river. If you get up early, you can make an offering of food for the monks to stop along the banks. They give you blessings, too!
We had a small family "resort" frequented by Thais. Nothing special for us@last minute, but they have great-looking cottages. Watch the bacon in the morning--I think it was still grunting...
