What a full, informative post, you did more in Thailand in your 9 days than i do in the many months that i spend there each winter, I also went to Ayutthaya recently for a family members Funeral, stopping off on the way near to the old airport DMK for a big VW aircooled festival, picking up some bits fro my VW Kombi, I do like Ayutthaya with the old temples and the river trips, which can go to bkk, but i have never tried.
Eva air are a good popular airline for the LHR/BKK route. BA with there one flight a day are normally busy with staff non revs, as i get pushed to the back of the queue traveling on a one world non rev. for my trip home this year i am using CX, as a change from QR.
