    Default Best routes from US to Bali

    Just took the wife to Iceland - and in exchange - she wants to go to Bali (she prefers the warm weather). So I was checking to see what the best (most open/what time of year/what airlines) routes to get there from the States are. I work for Southwest - so have agreements with most carriers through MyID Travel. All input greatly appreciated.

    Sorry to be absent for most posts; I've been dealing with spinal stenosis and arthritis.
    We've Been to Bali 3X. We used to access the island via BKK. Now BKK has an issue. HKG was a previous option but no more for us. We also did ICN on KE (using miles). We enjoyed taking a break @BKK to adjust before going to Bali.
    A few hints:
    if daughter is young, she might like Seminyak. I'd lean to Sanur. We loved the private villa suites near Ubud (Royal Pita w/private endless pool w/view of the river gorge.
    I'll try to answers questions when I can.

    I popped down to Bali a couple of years ago to meet my daughter and buy her lunch when she was back packing through Indonesia. We actually ended up on Gili Trawangan. Absolutely fantastic. Before breakfast she would go for a run round the island. After breakfast i would go for a walk around the island !!!

    Anyway - I flew Malaysian via KL. They have 3 flights per day KUL-DPS-KUL. I had no problems altho the flights are generally 90%+ full. Previous visits too long ago....

    How about Hong Kong Airlines going LAX-Hong Kong-Bali ??? Or Cathay Pacific - looks like they have a lot of options?
