Im taking my parents, and my inlaws to Cancun in September.

Im looking, but so far I havent found any non-rev rates that are any cheaper than you can get on Expedia.

Does anybody know of any (fairly nice) hotels (especially AIs) in Cancun or the Riviera Maya that offer discounts to nonrevs?

I posted previously about the Bahia Principe. We wanted to go back there, but sadly, no discounts make it a little more than we can do, so ...

If anybody knows of any, post up!
    Thanks!

    I've checked Dargal & Perx.
So far, I can get cheaper rates on expedia and other regular travel sites, than they have listed for interline.

Just seeing if anybody know of any actual "good" deals.

I went to Cancun last September and stayed at the Riu Caribe. It was all inclusive and very inexpensive. I went directly on the riu.com website, got the toll free number to reservations and called them direct for my airline rate. I think it was like $50-$60 a night. I dont remember. The hotel was absolutely gorgeous and the ammenities were great! The rooms were very large and all ocean view. The food and drinks were wonderful. It was a great deal. As for Cancun itself, I didnt like it at all. After several trips to Mexico and a cruise to Mexico I took last month, I decided I just flat out dont like Mexico, but thats my personal opinion. In Cancun, it was so humid and 'steamy' you couldnt go outside for more than 30 seconds and you were drenched in sweat. Even while in the pool, you were sweating, if thats even possible! But then again, I live in Oregon and we dont have humidity so Im not used to that. But I would compare it to being in the bathroom, with the door closed and having the shower running on hot for 20 minutes. It was just awful. Im sure it had alot to do with the time of year I went and that explains why the hotels were so cheap then too. One thing to avoid are all the people at the airport trying to get you "2 for 1" shore excursion offers and such. I went for it and its a scam. I wasted a whole full day of my vacation, it wasnt what they promised and they will literally harass you belittle you and make you feel like a complete failure if you didnt come on vacation with an extra $80,000 dollars to buy into their timeshare program. They dont tell you that thats what it is at first until you get there. When you arrive at the airport, just keep walking and dont even look at them. They will be lined up like kids at a candy store. Hope this helps.
